چکیده

The objective was to evaluate the effect of replacing common urea with protected in supplement on nutrient intake and digestibility metabolic profile sheep. Five adult sheep, an average age 4 years initial body weight 50 ± 4.03 kg, were used. diet consisted sorghum silage, supplemented a multiple mixture corn bran, soybean meal, white salt, mineral (CU) or (PU). experimental design 5x5 Latin square. Treatments of: control 100% CU, 75% CU 25% PU, 50% PU PU. Collections analysis feed, feces, urine blood carried out assess intake, metabolites. Analysis variance SNK test applied considering 5% significance. Nonparametric data analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis at significance level 5%. replacement did not (P> 0.05) alter dry matter, crude protein water, matter digestibility. production density also show statistical difference urea. As for energy metabolites, only glycemia showed variation (P <0.05), proportion indicating highest concentration glucose relation 0, supplement. There are no benefits from partial total sheep supplementation.

Urea Metabolism in Sheep

The rate at which urea enters the body pool of urea in sheep was investigated using isotope dilution techniques. Both single injection and constant infusion of carbon-14 urea were used. Urea excretion rates were calculated by measuring the urea in urine collected from a catheter in the bladder. Urea entry and excretion rates were measured in sheep fed rations containing 3.5, 9, 17 and 27% crude...

Metabolism of urea in sheep.

4. Plasma concentrations and urea entry rates were significantlj and linearly related. 5. The relationship between excretion rate and plasma urea concentration was best described by a cubic equation. 6. Degradation of urea in sheep was found to be extensive in all the animals studied ; as the protein intake increased, the quantity of urea degraded also increased but the percentage of ureaenteri...

Ig58.-In order to elucidate the renal mechanism for the regulation of urea excretion the urea clearance and the GFR were studied in sheep during normal and low protein intake in a range of urine flows from extreme osmotic diuresis to minimal...

Urea recycling in sheep: effects of intake.

The effect of intake on urea production, entry into the digestive tract and return of N to the ornithine cycle was studied in four sheep. Each sheep received 0.6, 1.2 and 1.8 x estimated maintenance energy intake quantities of grass pellets for 9 d. After 4 d of adjustment, N balance measurements were conducted between days 5 and 8. From day 7 to day 9 animals were continuously infused, via the...

Effect of Supplementing Common Reed (Phragmites australis) with Urea on Intake, Apparent Digestibility and Blood Metabolites of Baluchi Sheep

To evaluate the effects of treating or supplementing common reed (Phragmites australis) with 2% urea on intake, nutrient apparent digestibility, and blood metabolites, fifteen Baluchi rams (35.4±2.3 kg body weight) were used in a completely randomized design. Treatments were as follows: 1) common reed, 2) common reed supplemented with 2% urea solution at feeding, and 3) common reed tre...
